Noumea weather in December?

My fiance are planning our honeymoon, which will be starting in the middle of december 2005 and running for about 2 weeks. I've read that december is the rainy season in New Caledonia, but just how rainy is it? I've also read that there are hurricanes. Can anyone fill me in? You can email directly at nick@gorevic.net.
