    • A gym to lift weights?

      Paris May 25, 2013 at 9:27 PM

I'll be in Paris in July and am looking for a gym where I can simply lift free weights. Barbells and squat racks are what I'm looking for. I need to be able to sign up for just a month though. I expect prices to be expensive, so I'll be happy to hear of any option.

      Thanks. :-)

    • Train Station -- can't get through gates

      Rambouillet Jun 16, 2013 at 10:45 AM

We went to Rambouillet on a Sunday. On the return trip, we could not get past the gates between the front door and the platforms. The sign said "access to trains," but it was nothing but barriers. The gates seemed to be activated by small, subway-style tickets, but we had a full size train ticket purchased at our station of origin. There was no one attending the station. We jumped over turnstiles, squoze through gates, crossed tracks, and climbed over a fence before finding a staircase that led to the right track. We could see a staircase after we broke through the gates, but it was fenced off. I can't find a layout of the station or any explanation anywhere else on the internet. Any one know what we did wrong (or what's wrong with the train station)?

      Getting around Odeon Metro

      Paris Jun 7, 2013 at 1:01 AM

I have been prompted after reading the Paris pages of Cathy Reichhardt, to ask if anyone can tell me a little bit about the Odeon Metro Station with regards to people such as I with mobility problems. This will be our closest Metro stop to our apartment on my upcoming visit to Paris and from prior experience of the Paris Metro system, I know full well that as good as the Metro is, it can be a minefield of steps, long walks and out of order lifts. The bus services in the same area seem to be quite good, but there will be a couple of occasions at least where we may be better served by using the Metro. Any help will, as always, be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Budget hotel or B&B with secure parking near Paris

      Paris Jun 17, 2013 at 4:10 AM

We're driving from Calais to the Loire Valley in a few weeks and will be spending a day in Paris on the way. As we'll have a car /roof box full of camping gear and don't want to bring it into the city I need to find a budget hotel or B&B where we can safely leave the car, get the train into Paris and then get back the same evening. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance guys.

      What zone is Neuilly-sur-Seine in?

by Sandypaws3 Online Now Mar 13, 2005 at 6:58 PM

I see what buses go to Neuilly-sur-Seine, and I see that the #1 metro goes there. However, I haven't been able to figure out what zone Neuilly-sur-Seine is in. The print on the RATP zone map is much too small to see, and it won't open in PDF format. Is Neuilly-sur-Seine within zone 1-2 or is it further out? There's a restaurant my husband and I would like to go to -- La Guinguette de Neuilly. Best, Sandy
