I am planning to go on these days , backpacker (budget traveller) Any suggestion of places i must visit ( By bus) within the duration of 6-7 hrs travelling from KTM the most and how the weather during that time especially the temperature. any budget guesthouse to recommend on all these places (price between USD8 - USD12 for 2 person) prefer in the city center . Thanks in advance. Rgds Mike
Pokhara by the lake is worth a few days, probably 7-8 hrs from Kathmandu. Great place to relax and some hiking. You will have no problem finding accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara for12 or less. If you mean now by 'these days' expect some rain.

Hello Mike. I agree with the previous poster that Pkhara is a very good place to go. Lovely town by the lake with great mountain views. Another place could be Bakhtapur which is very close to Kathmandu. I was just in Nepal myself 2 months ago and stayed at a few different hotels and this one here was nice and cheap and should be within your budget: "Ok budget place with a very central location." - Potala Guest House Tip by cachaseiro This place has a perfect location aswell right in the center of the Thamel district. And i just noticed that you are from Klang. I actually cycled though Klang this afternoon and is writing this from a hotel in Banting :).

Good info already posted I agree Pokhara is probably the most popular place to visit with lots of things to see and do around there including 1) Paragliding 2) Micro-Light flight 3) Devi Falls and Gupteshwor Mahadev cave 4) Walk to the Peace Pagoda and then return to lakeside by boat over Fewa Tal 5) Visit The Tibetan Refugee camp 6) Sunrise at Sarangkot Next to that will be Chitwan National Park - Usually a package that includes transportation from either Kathmandu or Pokhara by Tourist Bus and Includes accommodation with Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner as well as All your activities (National Park Entrance fee, Elephant Ride, Dug Out Canoe Trip, Jungle Walk, Cultural Show, Bird watching / Village Walk etc) start at30 per person per day. My Own favourite for Sauraha is Tiger Residency This is a little more expensive but the accommodation and the food is well above average and the guide, Laxman is simply superb, he can recognise all the birds by sight, silhouette and bird call and knows their names in English, Latin and Nepali I have steered quite a few people to Tiger Residency over the years and have had a lot of Good feedback !! Then there are places like Tansen, Daman, Lumbini, Ghorka, Manakamana and Bandipur Then, in the Kathmandu Valley there is Lots to see and do including 1) Buddha Air Mountain Flight 2) Bodnath 3) Visit Kopan Monastery 4) Pashupatinath 5) Swayambhunath 6) Full day in Bhaktapur 7) Durbar Square Kathmandu and Patan 8) Day trip to Nagarkot and overnight – With luck spectacular sunrise For further details on most of the above please see the Things to Se and Do Tips Section on my Nepal page – Tips on the various options on getting to them are on my Transportation Tips and choices of budget hotels are on my accommodation Tips Good Luck and Happy Travels Rob
