This is my first Negril trip in over a decade ('98 was the last time). I was wondering about gifts as tips for hotel staff. My Daughter, who gets to Negril much more often than I, suggested DVD's. I'm fine with that notion I was also wondering about T-shirts or even shirts. I'm hoping a veteran of Negril can help me out with this question, Thank you/Respect! Mickey
I think cold hard cash is the thing they want the most, I don't think there's anything they can't get, it's that they can't afford to buy it. At a lot of the all inclusive resorts, tips are included in the stay, of course, that doesn't mean that you can't leave a tip for the hotel staff or bar staff if you want. I'd never bring a DVD as a tip, how could you possibly know what kind of movies someone would watch?

cash is king for a tip!

The local workers depend upon receiving tips for everything. I would assume that since they are so poor, they would not have DVD players and therefore, this would not be an appropriate gift. Tee-shirts with your home country logo would be an idea.
