Hi, My wife and I are planning to travel to Pulau Redang in the 2nd week of March as we are keen to avail the early bird snorkeling package. We are from India. I have some queries regarding this: - 1. The dates seem to coincide with school holidays - is there a rush usually at that time? 2. All the packages require previous online booking - through credit card or bank transfer. Is there any reason for fraud and other apprehension? Any previous instances and what steps we need to safe guard against it. What if the resort simply refuse to acknowledge our payment 3. Which beach is best to stay considering we have a budget of around 500 MYR per person for the package I think the queries are basic but would be of great help if anyone can answer quickly
Please let me know how to book the bus tickets in advance from Kuala Teregganu to Kuala Lumpur. Also do suggest which bus operator is preferable for a safe and quick journey

Help please we are in a dilema. We are thinking of going to the islands of Perhentian for a few days from KL. Does anyone have any other suggestions of alternative ideas. We land in KL mid April 2011 and have four days to kill (we are already stopping in KL for severqal days earlier in the month so want something different). Idealy we are after a little bit of paradise, not completely dead, perhaps a little nightlife but not too hectic and dont mind flying to the destination or train or ferry or nanyother form of transport that can take us to our yet endecided destination. The only thing is that we have only four days in total to arrive at the destination before getting back to KL on the fourth day. Does that make sense. Many thanks for your help poe n pat
Greetings. Can anyone advise the best way to get from Kota Bharu airport to the jetty for Perhentian island ferry and how long does it take together with coat. Has anyboby spent a X"Mas and/or new year's eve on Kecil? Those who have: 1. What is it like? Many/few tourists? 2. Water condition good for snorkeling/diving? 3. Stores/restaurants/chalets open for business? 4. Access to/from the mainland via ferry available/predictable? 5. Does any of the chalets have email address, so that tourists can make reservation in advance of arrival, and/or enquiries about conditions on Kecil around the time between X'Mas and New Year's Day. Warren
Some helpful observation i made while in Malaysia If your looking to get to Penang from West Coast i.e. Redang etc their are lots of Mini Van taxi's that do this for around 80RM per person. Also Premiership football is on most of the smaller islands i.e. perhen and redang so dont threat :P Cocohut Chalet was an ok place to stay but the beach next to it was very small and some contruction is on-going... not a great beach but the good news is they have many boat taxi's who take you to all the islands and pick you up for example Turtle Beach or Shark Bay etc (no sharks left) usually for 10RM to 15RM. In KL most of the Taxi's charge 15RM to goto most local hotels if metered can be around 10RM but most wont bother because of the traffic so 15RM sounds reasonable.
i am to stay at long beach ffrom 6th to 8th August. wd anyone suggest which resprt/hotel one should stay at? with basic rooms,,,

Hi, I'm new here and hopefully somebody can help me. We will visit Malaysia in September for the first time. After landing in Kuala Terengganu we decided to go to Lake Kenyir for two days. After that we want to go to Merang and leave to Lang Tengah by boat. I'm now looking for a possibility to go from Terengganu to Lake Kenyir and from Lake Kenyir to Merang. Does anybode know how much taxis are ? Or can somebode tell me the homepage af a car rental so we can go by car to the lake and then by taxi to Merang. Thank you so much for helping. Kind regards Janine
Is it possible to do a day trip to pulau redang?
I'm planning to Redang duing 25~27 Sep 2010, however, I heard that the monsoon will be started at that time, should I still go ahead? Coz I really love Sun and Beach and sea soooooo much! On the other hand, is it very risky if I buy the ticket of overnight bus from KL to TGG just on the day of my arrival at KL (23 Sep)? Easy to be sold out at that time? So many concerns, hope someone can help me, thank you!
