accommodation in / near pantai merdeka

my husband and I would like to spend a night or two in panntai merdeka. is there any kampong houses on stilts ? we already know about the resort. is it safe as a whole to stay there ? is it safe to overnight and park our car there ? Any info about the place are all welcome .
