We have booked the SeaWorld excursion on our cruise, and I just wondered how long of a walk it is to where we catch the tour boat to take us to the submarine?
im headed to nassau in 3 weeks everytime i read a review someone has posted they always mention SAFE places to go. is it really that bad there?
I will be taking a family of four adults to Nassau in March looking for beach, water activities, snorkeling, water park. Want hotel on the beach. Moderate pricing. Any recommendations? Is paradise island that much better than mainland Nassau?
Never been here. Are the waters nice? Is it a tropical feeling? Is there good fishing? if so, what do you catch?
Hi, thanks to all for your comments, they are really helpful!
I wonder if you can guide me since it's my first time to Bahamas. I am planning to arrive on October, 17th and planning to stay for 14 days together with my Mom. Do you think it's worth staying 2 weeks or would you recommend only one? Also, I am thinking to book at the Sheraton Nassau beach & resort....any comments? Is it a good choice or is it too far away.
I really appreciate any suggestions!
Can the lighthouse be walked to from the cruise port?
im looking for a bar or a club that operates on the beach or a luau style setting in Nassau this weekend on sept 14th anybody know anywhere was I can party outdoors after dark on the beach
how much is cab fare from ship to junkanoo beach in nassau
We will be staying at The Reef at Atlantis for two weeks in August. There are a lot of recommendations for Food Store 2 Go grocery delivery. Are we better off shopping ourselves? Is there a grocery store nearby?
Since we'll only have 5-6 hours in Nassau, I'd like to know what public beaches, street food & sights are near each other where we could spend a little time at each........Thanks
Our family is considering renting a home on West Bay Street near Saunders Beach. I understand the #10 jitney runs along this route.
I have many questions:
1). We will be a large group (14 or 15 people). The age range will be from 13-years old up to 80-years old. Do you think being this far away (about 4 miles from the Atlantis resort) we all can still find enough to do?
It seems like the younger kids will be able to do many things like take a day trip to the Atlantis waterpark, play in the ocean, etc. (basically they can entertain themselves). BUT, we have some concerns for the people who will be in their 50's and two of the people who will be in their 70's.
Does anyone know if any of the hotels nearby have entertainment like live bands, shows, etc.?
I know the jitney stops running at night, but it would be no problem for us to get a taxi. But a few in my group expressed some concern about finding enough stuff for people to do who don't wanna rent jet skis or do the typical "beachy" stuff. See what I'm saying? From the Saunders Beach area to the high rise area, will we be able to find activities at various resorts (or other locations) where some of us can check out bands, music, events, etc. WITHOUT having a special wrist band or pass to a given resort?
2.) In addition, as I said, we will be a large group. Would you recommend a rental van? If we did rent a van, are there places to park it should we drive it to the high rise areas? We'd hate to rent a van and have it sit, but on the other hand with so many people needing to go so many different ways, would a rental van be a good idea?
Thanks for any input!
I am looking for a nice public beach near the docked cruise ships to spend time with my family. We don't really have time for an excursion because the ship leaves in early afternoon. All that I have found are pricey excursions with very minimal time to play at the beach. We are going for the sand and water experience. Can anyone help?
What time do the shops downtown close? I know the straw market closes between 5-6.
How much should I expect to pay for a cab from the airport to the Brownstone's condo rentals? (on Marlin Drive.)
How much is a taxi ride for a family of eight from the airport to the Atlantis?
Can anyone tell me if they require infants to be in special seats on buses or taxis. I have twin 15 month old girls and we are traveling to Nassau in May 2013 on a cruise and want to travel to Cable Beach at Port in Nassau. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!
We are a group of 6 adults on a cruise stopping in Bahamas, (Nassau).
We are thinking of riding the ferry to Paradise Island.
We want to find a free beach with changing facilities. It can be on Nassau though.
Any other must see day trip while we stop at Nassau instead of beach? Thanks
Hi, all. Our group is doing a girls' trip to Nassau mid-July. This will be (collectively) our first trip to Bahamas. We've figured out flights and where to stay, but we are not really interested in doing the whole Atlantis/Casino scene. We'd really like to find out how to explore some of the more primitive beaches and also we'd like to know the best way(s) to get ourselves to some of the out islands, especially Eleuthera. Any and all comments, suggestions, warnings, sarcastic jabs, free money, free anything....would be appreciated.
Hi I am looking for some discount/charity stores in Nassau; in the US they are usually run by charities such as Salvation Army, Goodwill, Cancer Society and sell pretty much anything one might need for a house (clothing. kitchen wares, glassware, pots and pans, china, etc etc). Or something similar to 99cents or Dollar Tree stores where everything costs1. Anything like that in Nassau???
Very helpful if someone can inform me. Thanks vivalapant
Is Blue Lagoon Island worth visiting for the day if you are not planning on the Dolphin Encounter? I am stopping in Nassau for a day on a Disney Cruise, and cannot afford to take my family to the Atlantis excurions. The beach day at the Blue Lagoon Island sounds affordable, and pretty, with lunch included and a few toys to play with in the water. Just wanted any advice...I mostly want to enjoy the day at the beach. I wouldn't mind the dolphin thing, but it seems expensive. I'm not sure how much it costs directly at the island (rather than booking through the Disney Cruise...)

This will be my first trip to Nassau, and am very excited. Although this won't be our last visit, I want to try and see as much as possible within 5-6 hours we have on the island. I want to ride horses and possibly go to Atlantis, any trip suggestions? This is a family vacation that will include me, my husband and my 10 year old daughter...
What is the best economic way to get from the Comfort suites on Paradise Island to the Straw Market? Thanks
We'll be visiting Nassau in November & are looking for things to do other than snorkelling & diving. My travelmate is not a fan of being under water than long, so looking for something very fun!
We're up for pretty much anything that will last our time in port.
Thanks in advance for any replies!!
Arriving July 4-9 in Nassau and want info on inter island flites and water taxis/ferries to nearby islands. Is is worth seeing Atalantis for the day? already know about the ferry to/from Prince Geroge Wharf. ?
We will be staying at the Atlantis resort for 10 days and trying to determine the feasibility of getting the dining plan or paying our own for meals. How expensive is it to buy off the menu versus the cost per day of the dining plan? We have two teenagers, two grandparents going with us so cost is a factor. Thanks
Can anyone tell me the approximate cost of a taxi from the Nassau port to Grand Bahamian? We will be getting off a cruise ship, going to a wedding there, and don't want to be ripped off. Thanks!
I would really love to share this fishing charter while down in the bahamas. Its always been a dream of mine to go fishing on one of my bahamas trips.Unfortunately its a bit expensive for being a novice.
Anyways,i would like to split this charter while in the bahamas, one half day, between march 22-26th (paradise island)
Total is 600$ for six people for HALF/day. i only have two.
But we could split it,300 me and300 you. you could even bring FOUR people if you wanted!

If interested.Please contact me
Basically, my question is what was exposed in my title. How can I get to The Abacos from Nassau? can I fly directly to abacos from Miami or Fort Lauradale?
Any suggestions will be deeply appreciated!!!!
