I am looking for a nice public beach near the docked cruise ships to spend time with my family. We don't really have time for an excursion because the ship leaves in early afternoon. All that I have found are pricey excursions with very minimal time to play at the beach. We are going for the sand and water experience. Can anyone help?
What time do the shops downtown close? I know the straw market closes between 5-6.
How much should I expect to pay for a cab from the airport to the Brownstone's condo rentals? (on Marlin Drive.)
How much is a taxi ride for a family of eight from the airport to the Atlantis?
Can anyone tell me if they require infants to be in special seats on buses or taxis. I have twin 15 month old girls and we are traveling to Nassau in May 2013 on a cruise and want to travel to Cable Beach at Port in Nassau. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!
We are a group of 6 adults on a cruise stopping in Bahamas, (Nassau). We are thinking of riding the ferry to Paradise Island. We want to find a free beach with changing facilities. It can be on Nassau though. Any other must see day trip while we stop at Nassau instead of beach? Thanks
Hi, all. Our group is doing a girls' trip to Nassau mid-July. This will be (collectively) our first trip to Bahamas. We've figured out flights and where to stay, but we are not really interested in doing the whole Atlantis/Casino scene. We'd really like to find out how to explore some of the more primitive beaches and also we'd like to know the best way(s) to get ourselves to some of the out islands, especially Eleuthera. Any and all comments, suggestions, warnings, sarcastic jabs, free money, free anything....would be appreciated. ;-)
Hi I am looking for some discount/charity stores in Nassau; in the US they are usually run by charities such as Salvation Army, Goodwill, Cancer Society and sell pretty much anything one might need for a house (clothing. kitchen wares, glassware, pots and pans, china, etc etc). Or something similar to 99cents or Dollar Tree stores where everything costs1. Anything like that in Nassau??? Very helpful if someone can inform me. Thanks vivalapant
Is Blue Lagoon Island worth visiting for the day if you are not planning on the Dolphin Encounter? I am stopping in Nassau for a day on a Disney Cruise, and cannot afford to take my family to the Atlantis excurions. The beach day at the Blue Lagoon Island sounds affordable, and pretty, with lunch included and a few toys to play with in the water. Just wanted any advice...I mostly want to enjoy the day at the beach. I wouldn't mind the dolphin thing, but it seems expensive. I'm not sure how much it costs directly at the island (rather than booking through the Disney Cruise...)

This will be my first trip to Nassau, and am very excited. Although this won't be our last visit, I want to try and see as much as possible within 5-6 hours we have on the island. I want to ride horses and possibly go to Atlantis, any trip suggestions? This is a family vacation that will include me, my husband and my 10 year old daughter...
What is the best economic way to get from the Comfort suites on Paradise Island to the Straw Market? Thanks
We'll be visiting Nassau in November & are looking for things to do other than snorkelling & diving. My travelmate is not a fan of being under water than long, so looking for something very fun! We're up for pretty much anything that will last our time in port. Thanks in advance for any replies!!
Arriving July 4-9 in Nassau and want info on inter island flites and water taxis/ferries to nearby islands. Is is worth seeing Atalantis for the day? already know about the ferry to/from Prince Geroge Wharf. ?
We will be staying at the Atlantis resort for 10 days and trying to determine the feasibility of getting the dining plan or paying our own for meals. How expensive is it to buy off the menu versus the cost per day of the dining plan? We have two teenagers, two grandparents going with us so cost is a factor. Thanks
Can anyone tell me the approximate cost of a taxi from the Nassau port to Grand Bahamian? We will be getting off a cruise ship, going to a wedding there, and don't want to be ripped off. Thanks!

Hi there, Basically, my question is what was exposed in my title. How can I get to The Abacos from Nassau? can I fly directly to abacos from Miami or Fort Lauradale? Any suggestions will be deeply appreciated!!!! Barbara
What is the best way to arrive at the resort from the airport? Any other info while we are there, ex: snorkling sites, etc.
I was wondering if Nassau had alot of people trying to get you to do a timeshare presentation? What can you expect to get for going on a tour?
Could anyone tell me where to go if I would like to go parasailing with my teenagers? I really dont want to purchase the event through the cruise but would rather walk up and buy at my convience...please let me know...thanks!

How difficult is it to get a jitney when you leave the cruise ship to go to the Garden of the Groves? Where do you get it??
We want to travel very light with carry on only for our flight to Nassau. We want to pick up a few things (toiletries, brandy) before our sail out on Sunday evening. Should we shop at the airport before going into town or are shops generally open on Sunday afternoons ?
HI. We are coming to Nassau on a cruise ship. We have two boys 10 and 7 years old. They love pirate stuff so we are taking them to the pirate museum. But after that we would like to go to a beach. We don't want one crowded with all the cruise ship passengers. I read that Junkanoo beach and Lighthouse beach are public beaches and are more low key. However, are they safe? Are there public restrooms or restaurants nearby? Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thank you.
how to pot a wrap on from the strawmarket we had traning when we by the from the verry good lady we forget please ggive us instrution thank youu
We will be here for a cruise next week and are at a loss as to what to do. We have snorkel gear and are most in favor of doing that for the day. Would you recommend: Love Beach (via Nirvana) then Fort Montague, Maybe the caves? or Cabbage Beach (Snorkelers Cove walking from public beach) and Fort Charlotte? I am afraid we might go out to Loves beach and Nirvana be closed or we get kicked out. I understand we can walk out and get some decent snorkeling (without the mile swim?)? The caves seemed cool but were VERY poorly reviewed (small/dirty) and am not sure about getting a bus to pick us back up from here. As for Cabbage beach I am afraid to be overrun with people and have the snorkeling be crummy but I understand Fort Montague is the better one to visit? We are there for maybe 5-6 hours so I am not sure if we can hop around to much. Alternatively if they had just a ferry to drop us off at one the outer/snorkeling islands that might be cool. Thanks! Any help would be wonderful! -Amanda
Hello, I am planning to stay at Wyndham at cable beach. I have booked two ocean view rooms w/o breakfast. Can anyone suggest which location within the property has better rooms and view of the ocean? Also, any suggestions on what to do about breakfast? Thanks in advance.
I vacationed in Nassau a couple of years ago (loved it) and bought some great sandals by American Wings from a shop on Bay Street. Those sandals are wearing out and my daughter and I would like to order several pair, but googling 'American Wings' yields nothing. My second idea was to order from the store where we purchased them, but I can't remember the name of it. I'm hoping some savvy Nassau shopper can solve the puzzle for me. Thanks for any help you can give!
