Overnight at Narita

The free overnight paid by the airline -- who does that apply to? I know All Nippon doesn't do it (I called them); also, does it matter whether you're traveling form US or from Europe?

i know JAL give you a free overnight between Australia and europe when there isn't a convenient connection.
