Hi Guys I am planning a trip to Naran, Kaghan etc from Karachi. We are family of 7 adults. We plan to take a Karakoram train from Karachi to Lahore and then may be take a Daewoo bus from Lahore to Islamabad. I have figured out this much however I have no idea how to get from Islamabad onwards. I was hoping the experts here help me plan this trip and recommend places to visit and stay. We plan to do 5 - 6 days trip. I would appreciate your help choosing the best sight seeing that we can do in these days. I have seen pictures of Naran, Kaghan, Shogran, Saif Ul Malook etc but I have no idea how geographically dispersed these are from each other and even if it makes sense to do all these in one trip. Your help figuring this out would be highly appreciated. Note that we have never done this before and probably never will after this trip. So we want to hit the maximum spots possible. I m planning a trip to Naran between 20 to 25th Nov and would like to know if the roads are open to travel. Secondly, can anyone suggest who to contact to book everything with one source like hotel accommodation + transport. We are a family of 2 to 3 adults & 5 months infant. Salam, Friends I am planning a family tour of Kaghan Valley in end of August with my wife and two kids (son 7 years & daughter 4 years old). My tentative plan is to first reach at Abbotabad from Karachi via Daewoo it will take about 24 hours. One day stay in Abbotabad and then travel to Shogran get a hotel travel to sri paya night stay at Shogran. Early morning depart to Naran. Stay at hotel first day visit to Saif ul Maluk returned to Naran night stay in hotel early morning travel to Lalazar. Return back to Naran night stay and then early morning get a bus for Islamabad (preferably PTDC Bus). Since it is my 1st trip to Kaghan. I want to get your expert advice that 1) Is the planned period is suitable to travel with family? 2) How can I make the trip econonmical? 3) What are the average rates of hotels in Naran & Shogran? 4) Can I book the hotel up on arrival at destinations? 5) How much the Jeeps may charges to take me the destinations from Shogran and Naran? 6) Is it better to take a rent a car from Shogran to cover the worthseeing locations both at Shogran and Naran?

how is hoteling in naran..? same costly like murree or one can get a proper and fair accomodation out there. If some one has visisted there lately with his family then please share his expirience .

is it safe to travel to shogran in this week? I know it is december but there has been no heavy rainfall and the roads must be clear. what is the best time to travel?

PTDC Bus service is only available from JUN to AUG - im planning to travel Naran next week from ISL/ PINDI, please guide me which is the economical mode of traveling. Please also inform about hotels which are economical. Thanks

Bonjour from Islamabad, We are planning to make a trip to Shogran and will travel by our own cars. we will take two cars i.e. Suzuki Liana, and Hyundai Santro. Please advice me on the road conditions. would it be possible to travel till shogran by our own cars? we are planning to leave on 29th June. Please let me know is it ok for me to go by car to naran, We are three families traveling togather from Lahore on Corolla/City & Amazon jeep. Please need some advice. While going towards Naran last year I saw some very beautiful water falls across River Kunhar. I think that place is called Paras. Has any one been on this place ? And is that place accessible by car ?

Could someone please refer me hotels suitable for families in Abbottabad, Naran & Shogran. I have mentioned some points below that might give an idea of what I am expecting: * Suitable for families with a safe, decent and friendly environment. * For 3-4 people per room (extra mattress is acceptable). * The rooms should be neat and clean. * Neat and Clean washrooms with Commode & hot water available. * Restaurant with good food. If possible then please provide the tariffs or rates for the hotels too. And also if someone has pictures of the hotel rooms, then that will be of great help. Another thing, there are kinda rest houses, lodges, holiday homes, etc also present in these areas. If anyone knows about any of these which is suitable for a family group consisting of 20+ members, please mention that too (rates, pictures). I am very much interested in that option as well.
