Bonjour from Islamabad, We are planning to make a trip to Shogran and will travel by our own cars. we will take two cars i.e. Suzuki Liana, and Hyundai Santro. Please advice me on the road conditions. would it be possible to travel till shogran by our own cars? we are planning to leave on 29th June. Also if anyone could suggest some low cost hotels in shogran and balakot. Thanks Abdul Karim
If you have an experience driving on the mountain roads then consider its a bit tougher and steep climb. Road is narrow as well. A lot of people go there on the own cars. Skip Balakot and go straight to shogran. 45 minutes drive from Balakot to Kawai and another 30 minutes to Shogran.... you will now find ample hotels there.

agreed to the above response. if you have already driven to Murree/Nathiagali then this might not be a problem except for not so good roads. road from kiwai to Shogran is steep, as already mentioned. It will take you 5-6 hours from Islamabad all the way to Shogran without major stops... have a great trip Muzzammil
