Where to shop for cloth/silk in meters?

I have been to shanghai and beijing, but intend to travel to Nanjing this June 2007. Does anyone reading this know where I could shop for fabric/material (silk/linen/coton?) sold in meters? Usually they are displayed in rolls, and to are sold in meters. Anyone please help. Thank you.

    there are shops they sell cloth for clothing.you can go there.There are also manufactures in the surburb or nearby cities like Nan tong,it is place renowned for cloth manufacturing
