victoriasafaris.com/kenyatou... Anyone done this? How safe do you think it is likely to be?
We were in Kenya last month. We drove by the Kibera slum and got acquainted with it's history. Also, we had done some research ahead of time after watching the movie, "The constant Gardner". I'm sure you'll be safe, as you'll be with a guide. Also, for the most part, even when interacting within Kenya, as a whole, we didn't feel threatened. You're adviced of course to take all the necessary same precautions as you would in any other large city in such circumstances. The only observation I will make is this: It is ironic that you'll be staying in a nice hotel, such as Intercontinental Hotel (we stayed there) and visiting areas full of such poverty. I hope you will take the time to reflect on your own good fortune, their more impoverished one and be willing to act upon your generosity and compassion. I hope this helps. Homer
