Can we still snowboard in mid March?

by micmik Online Now Dec 10, 2012 at 11:50 PM

Few of us are planning a ski trip to Japan, and would like to explore other resorts outside Niseko. Flights to Tokyo are always easier to organise, so somewhere on honshu will be good.

- Which resorts will still have decent snow/powder by early to mid March?
- Preferably with good runs for both beginners to advanced snowboarders (ie no long flat runs please!)

Thanks!

It's different year to year, but if you are going to get lucky it'll probably be at Naeba.

Check out this site: Surf & Snow (http://snow.gnavi.co.jp/en/)

If you're looking for a place near Tokyo, it should be Gunma, Nagano, or Niigata prefecture. You can ski on decent snow up to mid-March at most ski mountains in those areas. (Whether you get powder is up to weather conditions.)
