Hi We will be in Karuizawa and will travel to Nikko after. Is there any possiblity of getting a train from Karuizawa through to Nikko? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Joe
I just checked japanrail.com's hyperdia schedule and there are quite a few trains from Karuizawa to Nikko, however it involves a transfer at Omiya and Utsunomiya. It takes about 2 hrs to get to Nikko from Karuizawa. Take a look at this link and input your starting time etc. Watch for the schedules with the least amount of layover time (unless you want extra time to explore these towns!) grace.hyperdia.com/cgi-engli...
