We have changed our mind 100 times regarding our trip to Mystic as we do not have a vehicle and public transport seems non existent in this town.
Our latest plan is until someone shoots it down is to arrive at the Mystic Amtrak Station from Boston on a Friday morning at 11am (most likely in May)then catch a taxi to the Mistick Village area where the hotels seem a lot cheaper than in the town itself.
We would then utilise the Mystic Community Bike scheme on Friday and Saturday to have a good look around Mystic then catch a taxi back to the Amtrak on Sunday morning.
Question is does anybody have a rough idea of taxi fares from the Amtrak station to the Mistick Village area? Is the Mystic Taxi service reliable enough to get us to our 10am train on Sunday morning to New York? and does the above plan seem feasible at all?
How do we post a listing to be on this website?
If we arrive in Mystic by train how easy is it to get around without our own car, probably staying at hampton inn
Is there a shuttle between Mistic Village and Mystic Seaport? Is there an available schedule?
I am planning on taking my mother to Mystic in the Fall for a weekend getaway. We don't drive. Is Mystic a walker friendly place? Are their inns in town to enjoy and you can walk out and start shopping? Please advise as I really want to take her!!!

Going to Mystic, CT in September--Wanted to know if there is an inexpensive hotel outside of Mystic going towards Newport, RI as it seems staying right in Mystic is a lil on the expensive side.
Also wondering if there is enough activity to easily last 1 complete day in Mystic.
Are tourist attractions in Mystic, CT available year-round?
