Hi. I'll be traveling to Mykonos alone in early July - July 3rd through 11th. Would be great to meet up with some folks when there.
Hi,
1. I would like to know the area where I can stay in Mykonos, when my requirement is to see the nightlife, shop, eat at restaurants, being able to make a trip to beaches. I really don't want to be in a beach resort where it might get difficult to go to town.
2. Any specific budget hotels, B&Bs where we can stay? We are going for our honeymoon.
Cheers!
Megha K.
Hi! Am planning a 2/3 day trip to Mykonos in early June as part of a Greek Holiday with my wife & 12-yr old son. Would be arriving after a 2-day stop in Santorini & will move to Athens therafter. Just had a few questions:
1] Where should we base ourselves given the fact that we have only 2/3 days in Mykanos
2] Would love to enjoy a day on a beach - any suggestions where we shld be headed? Or would the beach options in Santorini be better?
3] Is the 3rd day in Mykonos a good idea - alternatively we could cut down the trip to 2 days and spend an additional day in Santorini (we currently plan to spend 2 days there)
Thanks a lot in advance.
I hope to be going to Mykonos in Sept 2013 with my wife and son who is 27 I would like to know if the place is still hoping like Aug. Hows the weather in the beginning of Sept. Thanks for all your help. I hope to be staying near paradise beach
Regularly in Mykonos and this time coming on my own as mate can't come. Looking for cool, fun people to hang out with on the beach and maybe eves. I am a early 30s Londoner. Staying between Paradise and town and have a bike. Be cool to hear from anyone...am not looking for anything over commited, as like my own independence.
I am cruising on the crown princess in september and Mykonos is one of our stops. Is it worth going on a guided tpor or better to go it alone.
Hi Visiting Mykonos next month for the first time & not sure how to budget for eating out (Booked a hotel with only B&B). Not sure what the effects of the current economic climate has had on Mykonos, so can anyone give me an idea of average costs for dining out - price of meals - beers etc. v UK prices. Obviously there will be high end eateries but I'm only looking for a general idea in terms of whether it is particularly expensive throughout or what to watch out for (location or anything specifically expensive). Hope someone can give me a heads up! Cheers Andy
Hello ! I m planning a week vacation with my brother sister and our kids in may-June 2012. We want a vacation full of water sports and diving and nightlife. But we do want to walk back to a quiet place to sleep. I believe super paradise is excellent for such a vacation. My questions: Which area should we stay? ( we are 5 adults 2 kids) we would love it if we could find a budget apartment where we could cook too. Thank you a ton and god bless!! Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated!

Hi all, I will be flying to Mykonos next Monday and flying a week later from Santorini. I want to take a ferry from Mykonos to Santorini. Do I need to book these before I get to Mykonos or can I just do it once we are there? We are traveling with our 6 year old. Also can you please suggest some good local places for breakfast and perhaps shopping for some cheese and olives etc? Thanks!
We are flying home from Athens October 12 on a 1:30PM flight. Should we go to Athens the night before or count on the Olympic flight that arrives in Athens at 10:35AM to be on time?
Hi, I need a litle help to choose where to sleep 3-4 nights on Mikonos Island. I prefered on center or nearby. But I don't have much budget to spend. What you advise? Thanks Luis
we only have 8 hours when we anchor at 2pm. What is the best way to get around? Is it okay to hop in a cab and have them drive us around? How much would that cost for a couple of hours?
Yiasas I was living in Santorini for a while and I know that you find cheap deals to rent when you are there, talk to people, connections help, etc. I am trying to find to rent a villa /a vacation house for 8-10 people in Mykonos, and most of the deals I find online are way beyond our budget. Is there some other way to find smth to rent for a cheaper price? should i contact agencies, or local people, on Vt? :) Any relevant infor would be helpful! efharistw
Hello all, I'm planning to travel to Greence in August with my husband and 6 year old. We will have 7 days (excluding flight days). Our wish list includes Mykonos and Santorini and possibly Andros or Naxos. Can we combine Crete or Rhodes into the mix? We will be flying in from London Gatwick direct to Mykonos. Would you suggest 3-4 islands is a do-able itinerary in 7 days? We are interested in enjoying the beaches, visiting a couple of places of historical/cultural interest like Delos and Akrotiri. My husband is an avid photographer looking for good travel photo ops. Thanks in advance. Would you suggest an island hopping tour or cruise?
Thanks for the reply, I have checked these web sites. What I am saying is, the hotel web site map is very different to Thomson map, also reviews mention being near the airport, surely the hotel knows the location of it's site. I have read reviews on trip adviser. The photo's on Thomson, and the New Aeolos web sites, as I said are identical, I don't have a problem with the hotel, it's just the location, it won't be very good if we get there, and find that we are a long way from the town. One trip adviser e-mailed me to say the hotel is 800 mts from the edge of the town. If you look at both maps, you will see the difference. I feel sure Thomson have their map location wrong. Can't seem to get any joy from the Thomson tour operater. She says they are looking into it, but this has been going on now for over two weeks. She doesn't seem to know which map is correct.
Has anyone stayed at the above hotel, we have booked to go with Thomson, in eight weeks time. I first saw all the details on the Thomson web site, checking the location on their map, and the photos. I have since discovered the hotel web site, and on their web site map, the location of the hotel is a lot further out of the town. I have asked Thomson about this, taking in to the tour operater, maps that I have printed off my computer, showing the vast difference. They now say I am looking at the wrong hotel web site, as there is another hotel with the same name. I have been told that there are two hotels in Mykonos town with similar names one is "The Aeolos" the other being "Hotel New Aeolos" and that there would not be two with the same name. The photos by the way, are identical on the site of Thomsons, and the hotel web site with the name of the above hotel. I am so confused about this and the holiday getting closer. I do hope someone out there can help. Thanks JANNCOX
Hi I am thinking of coming there in january 2011 and febuary 2011. Can someone tell me how cold it really is? Apparently it still gets really cold there? Is it worth coming? or wait til summer?

Hi fellow VT travelers Can any-one share their experiences on Mykonos? Looking for a nice little beach to stay on in July not overrun by loud nightclubbers, but still close enough to Mykonos town to be within reach. Can any-one help with tips on what's best on Mykonos? Our perfect scenario is a small beach hotel and bar like the movie "Shirley Valentine", 20 years on. Thanks so much and PLEASE take a few seconds to help.
Hello everybody! Im travelling to the mediterranian sea in the beginning of June and was thinking about Mykonos. Is the place already crowded and the discos pumping so soon in the summer? And is Mykonos better than Ios or Agia Napa for example...? Is the average clubber there a bit older than in other places? Im a 26 year old straight male. Thanks for all help already in advance!!! Gr. Paul
Hi! =) My family and I are going on holiday to Greece. Just incase it might help, I'm fourteen and my younger brothers are thirteen. My dad told me that we're going to Mykonos for four days, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what we could go do as a family, or on our seperate ways. Next thing is that we get four more days to go on another island, and we get to choose which one. We're travelling on July 14, and I dont know if I have enough time to do research on all the islands, pick one and still find a hotel reservation with the rates my dad wants and all. So might anyone be able to recommend an island that could be our second choice? Side stuff: it says to include things about oneself, so im going to add that we are looking to spend time on beaches, and trying new things. We're not too interested in shopping and stuff, yet we dont just want to walk around a place and muse about what happened here and there. I would, but on the whole, my family won't.
