Olympic Airlines, Mykonos to Athens, reliability of on time

by Bbaker2779 Online Now Jul 15, 2011 at 8:48 PM

We are flying home from Athens October 12 on a 1:30PM flight.

Should we go to Athens the night before or count on the Olympic flight that arrives in Athens at 10:35AM to be on time?

Well I always prefer to have some leeway. Planes can run late...but do you have a connecting flight with same airline? That makes a difference.

I don't think the reliability of any airline is relevant as such (as far as I know there are no such problems with any European airline). But, as noted above, planes can be delayed for any number of reasons.

You will, in theory, have almost 3 hours between flights. In theory, that should be ample time.

If your ticket is booked through from Mykonos to home and you miss your connection, the airline will ensure you get home ok. But if you have two separate bookings then this won't apply.

I'm a bit of a worrier so I'd personally be much happier staying overnight in Athens before my flight home, even with a through booking.
