by AndyJA Online Now Feb 7, 2012 at 12:27 AM

Hi Visiting Mykonos for 2 weeks at the end of May & staying just out of Mykonos Town (Mykonian K hotel) Can anyone tell me if we are likely to suffer from Mosquitos please. Cheers Andy

Most reports and sites would suggest that you will have some trouble with them at some point and do suggest using repellant and making use of the nets around the beds (if your hotel has them) ...they dont carry malaria but they can be annoying Howwever having said this I do know of someone who was on Mykonos for the 2 weeks at the end of May and between 4 of them they got 2 bites...they suggested it was to do with the wind being a little stronger than ususal at that time So you never know...but its better to be prepared ...and buy repellant and or plug ins before you go as the prices when you get there there will be hugely inflated..

Mykonos is (in)famous for its wind. It is highly unlikely that you will be bothered by mosquitos. I have been there in September and had no problems whatsoever. Enjoy the island

You will definately be bothered by mosquitoes. I have stayed on Mykonos on some 10+ occasions the last time was close to the K-hotels. Sure the wind makes it less likely, but you still get them just to a lesser degree.
