Hi! Could you please tell me your opinion, how chaotic is traffic (and parking) in Muscat; is it ok to drive around with a rental car, or is a taxi far better option? And I assume, that navigator is the only option to find your way around? Many thanks in advance! Johanna
The traffic is heavy in the city, but not chaotic. If you use a car with GPS you will be fine. Taxis are not expensive, and easy to hire.

I rented a car (SUV actually) in Muscat and found it quite easy to drive around, find parking, etc. I had a completely useless map but managed to get around pretty well anyway. It was quite straightforward.

Rental car would be a more cheaper than a taxi and a more enjoying...and not that much of crowded in the city...however the u need navigater i guess... cheers,

You MIGHT be able to get a transit visa in Muscat- but doubt if the airline will pay for hotel. Google Hotels Airport... more

Whether you get a hotel or not is not about Oman, but the airline you use. You need to ask your airline if they will... more
