We arrive on Sunday, June 19th. Since we will only have a group Visa, we must take one of the 5 ship tours, or sign up for an individual guided tour which will be very expensive I'm afraid. (They are not posted yet.) My husband is interested in the nuclear ice-breaker and ship museum. But I'm afraid we will not see much else. If we take that tour, will we get to at least drive through the city, or is the museum and ice-breaker near where the cruise ship docks? I'd like to do a little shopping too - would anything be open on Sunday? Thoughts please!
Here is the map of the place of Icebreaker "Lenin: (#3) so it's situated near the docks murmantourism.ru/sights/ledo... As to the ship museum, there are 2 in Murmansk: one of them is closed for Saturday-Sunday, another one http://www.museum.ru/m2047 (click on the map icon on the left) is a bit far. As to shopping, despite i was in Murmansk 20 years ago, but normally in Russia all shops work on Sunday too, but working time during weekends is usually short: from 10-11 am till 15-17.
