can anyone advisebest way of getting from the airport to city centre and vice versa cheers phil

hi there just take the s-bahn s1 or s8 and get off main station it takes about 30-40 minutes. the s.bahn is not running between main station and ostbahnhof so perhaps you´ll need to change on a bus

If you are going to do more travel within the city and out to some of the smaller towns about Munich you should get a rail pass. The tickets are good for up to 5 people and you can go as far as Dachau. It is a great way to get around for one low cost. Around 17 euros when purchased at the airport.

BTW, you can purchase your Bayern-Ticket at a German Rail (DB) ticket machine, which they do indeed have at the Salzburg... more
