Hi, Was wondering how crowded the trains would be going from Bandra towards Mahalaxmi, starting at 0700-0730 in the mornings?
Would it be a great experience, as in empty trains, breezy with being able to stick my head out through the doors?
Thanks for any insights :-)
DB
I need to get to Bandra Terminus from Colaba and guess that I'll be taking a train.

I will be in Mumbai for a few days on my own. I will be meeting up with my wife later in the week. I wondered if I could meet up with any one interested in trips to Elephanta island and some other places for a bit of company?
Hello All, Due to flight connections I will be "stuck" in Mumbai for a couple of days in February with a group of friends and we all either know the city sights from previous trips or are not interested in seeing them, so we want to spend our time experiencing what the city has to offer from the food/drink/entertainment/leisure side of things. However we don't want to hit the "touristy" spots and such and wanted more of a local "insider" experience. So with all that: can anyone recommend a company which arranges such tailored stays and provides a "tour guide" to take us around the places? Although cost is no real object, I wouldn't say we are looking for "luxury" activities only, rather a high level of service. Thanks for your help, Paul
Hello, I would like to us a local travel/tour agent for a trip to the historical Golden Triangle and Nepal. Are you a VT Member that can recommend someone you have used? Thank you, DAO

Hi I am going to India with a friend (Indian but born in UK), both for 1st time. We are landing early morning and hoping to move on in the afternoon from Mumbai. We would like to get a little shut eye for few hours. Obviously, no point in booking a hotel for a night since we would only be there for 6/7 hours. So, what are our options? While on here I may as well as another question (if it is not the right forum then please ignore it). My friend is visiting his relatives in Surat, Gujarat. We plan to stay there for couple of days. What is the best way to get to Surat from Mumbai? Can we pre book a taxi to get us to Surat or perhaps get one of his relatives to send one from Surat? Sorry, so many questions. Hope someone can provide some feedback. Thanks. Robie

I am US citizen and I found that one laptop per passenger is duty free but am wondering if I have to bring both the laptops back once my visit is over in India? Actually I wanna give these laptops as gifts to my two different family members and I heard that gifts up to 8000 INR is duty free correct? and these laptops are used and each one values less than 8000 INR...so can I carry it to India ?and don't bring it back? Do I need a stamp in passport any where? and can I carry one both the laptops with me as carry on luggage? or one has to be in checked baggage?

hi on my 2 month trip to india (nov-jan) I will have 3 nights of luxury somewhere. I have picked mumbai as this. any suggestions as to which hotel will be best. The other times I will just be staying in normal hotels so I will look forward to luxury at some point. Mumbai will be roughly half way through my trip so I think its the besy option. I will want to party a little but not to bothered about nightclubs as I have done all that and would maybe just prefer bars open late. The roof top bar at the four seasons will be one bar I will go to although not definately staying there. thanks

I am in Mumbai for a few days. I will do a few of the tourist stuff, but what I am more interested in, is discovering the alternative Mumbai. That is to say: local bands, nice bookshops, places selling old classical Bollywood movies, underground activities, local djs or music mixes...You get my gist. Any pointer?
