Hi, I am looking for an RV park near Mt Rushmore to stay for the night. Will be coming from SW Michigan through Mt Rushmore to Yellowstone. I will have a 40' RV with a dog. Not sure who will still have openings for the end of June. Also, what else is there interesting to see on the way out to Yellowstone?
I also heard Crazy Horse was a good place to go. So something near both would be great.

Do you already have reservations in Yellowstone? They may be very difficult if not impossible to come by this late in the season. Also, be aware that Yellowstone has some very VERY tight laws regarding pets. They must be under control at all times and never allowed off leash. Just something for your consideration. Homer

Here is an RV park just outside of Hill City, it is reasonable. Twisted T CG: "Hidden secret" - Hill City Hotel Tip by Dymphna1 You will probably not be able get reservations in the park at this late date. But you might be able to find something outside of the park. We have had a late season snowstorm, so dress warm for Yellowstone.

Yes, I have had reservations in Yellowstone for a while but my husband decided at the last minute to stay in Mt Rushmore.

The above RV park is not real far from Mt. Rushmore and a good location for other things in the area. I have a fair amount on my Mt Rushmore page for links to what is in the area. Have fun.

I always go to www.woodalls.com first. They have been THE company for listing campgrounds for decades. This link lists RV sites near Custer SD woodalls.com/campground/defa... which is the closest city to Mount Rushmore. You can specify other features you require, such as allowing pets. When you find the place that best meets your needs, you can contact that business and see what's available on your dates of interest.
