What is the best website to book a return ticket from Moscow to Lutsk, Ukraine? Any idea what a return ticket may cost?
Price: I got 55.50 Euro each way in East-West tariff sold in Slovakia or Czech Republic. Add 20-30 Euro each way for sleepers (second class, T-4 or 4-bed). Expect to pay 1.5 times for first class through ticket and twice the T4 supplement for T-2 or "CB". In Russia or Ukraina the tariff is according MGPT, not East-West. Unlike East-West tariff (which is set in Euro) the MGPT is set in Swiss Francs and depends on the season. You will land up paying about the same +/- 20 Euro. A lot also depends on the owner of the sleeper; Ukrainian costs less, than Russian. Who can, can book on the RZD web site - but it is known to be picky about credit cards and it is in Russian only. Best alternative is probably not book anything at all. In theory you can land up cheaper by flying to Warszawa instead of Moscow and go to Lutsk from Warszawa - it's only 422 km and the price is 31.80 Euro each way. And FYI: the Warszawa-Kiev train will pass close to Lutsk at Kivertsi. You also can go Warszawa-Kivertsi-Kiev-Moscow, that costs 54.80 + 23.70 = 78.5 Euro, add sleeper accommodation as above. There is no danger, trains would be sold out. There is no benefit buying over the internet because the price is about the same over the counter.

You can't book it via internet (via RZD), as Russia - Ucraine is considered "interstate" communication (note, not international :) )And if you plan to do it two-way ticket, do it in advance. As Ukraine gives less return tickets, or you'll have to buy return ticket in Lutsk.

Hi Mightytravellor You can consult with travel agencies in Moscow in order to get your ticket from Moscow to Lutsk. Provide the exact information regarding your journey to the travel agency. They will charge you a few amount on the ticket. If you want to book your ticket online, then search on internet for the train ticket booking websites.
