Could one of your kind folks recommend a nice hotel/b&B in the mid price range 25-40 euros. If this is too low, please correct me.
The only place you could get a bed for that sort of price would at one of the hostels. Sorry I can't recommend one but Godzillas Hostel is in a very good location. waytorussia.net/Moscow/Hoste... Hope that helps.

Hi,raisola! For cheap Moscow hotels, also look this site english.vmoskvu.ru/hotels.ht... The prices begin from 700 RUR (20 euro). And here is the site of the hotel "Zolotoy Kolos" http://www.zkolos.ru/eng/rooms-rates Here the prices are little bit more expensive, than you have written, its begin from 1800 RUR (50 euro).

I stayed the week before last in a hostel near metro Park Kultur. http://www.moshostel.com/ (the location the Lonely Planet is now out of date). I rented a bed in the dorm but there are private rooms for rent. The bed dorm was 900 roubles (16 pounds) - I was busy when I arrive but went quite after one night. I think a bed in a two person room is about your price range. Its a good location. They girls who work there are very friendly and speak English but do spend a lot of time smoking on the balcony. Its good place to meet other travellers. The location is good, 30 minute walk to Kremlin or 5-10 minute Metro ride. Gorky Park is nearby, as is Novidiechy Monastery. I stayed in a hotel next to Vladykino metro, called Voshkod, which is reasonably priced (1500 roubles per night for a room where you share bathroom/toilet with one other room) if you don't mind Soviet style reception, which I did. I've stayed in other similar hotels in this area north of Moscow about 20 minutes by metro to the centre. They lack friendly service but are cheap. The best hotel experience is this area was the Ostankino - also near Vladykino metro but I think my friend dealt with Russian service. I've also stayed at the Academicheskaya Moscow Hotel Tips by Kap2 which I booked via WaytoRussia.net, which was good. I did meet someone who rented private flats but I didn't pursue it. I could put you in touch. I hope this helps? Melvyn
