hi were travelling around arizona in june ,but would like to know how long it takes to drive to grand canyon south rim from monument valley view hotel.are journey starts at flagstaff, then to monument valley then grand canyon south, then grand canyon ranch, then onto vegas which should take us about 3 days..would a convertible mustang be sensible for the trip and what car would anybody reccommend for this trip. many thanks andy-london uk
form MV to GC, turning right at Camerum, I did it last summer, there are almost 200 miles, let's say almost four hours.... sure you can go faster, at your risk. I did not understand what you have do fulther anyway, from GC to Las Vegas t's a long drive.

Hi Andy, Driving a convertible Mustang anytime would be fun, but in June in the areas you'll be traveling through I wouldn't do it. The sun is strong and hot. You'll have to use lots of sunscreen and might end-up putting the top back on just have relief from the glare. How many people will be in the car? If it's four or less, I would get a mid sized car with good gas mileage and excellent air conditioning.

Andy, Don't forget the air conditioner. It will most likely be pretty hot during the days.
