We will be going to Montreal via train in the near future. The train station is (as I understand it) below the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel. I was wondering if anyone knows whether there is a bank ATM machine located at the station or very nearby? I would prefer to use the ATM to withdraw CAD vs. purchasing in US with the exorbitant fees. Thank you in advance to anyone who responds!
Yes, this is indicated on ViaRail's official page for the Montreal station. viarail.ca/en/stations/quebe... (under "General Information") Canadians generally refer to an ATM as ABM or automatic banking machine. I don't recall which bank is specifically there though, and you're still likely to pay a fee.

I've never heard any Canadian refer to them as ABM's. Most of us call them ATMs. but I've heard a few people refer to them as "banking machines".

LOL, I just ask "where do I get money" and someone points to a machine

That is interesting. When I went to Montreal, I actually don't remember obtaining any Canadian currency. I think we paid by credit card most of the time. I also remember going to somewhat of a farmers market and they accepted the US currency I had.
