Hi, I've already been to LA for 2 weeks and it was very expensive. Now, I want to return with my sister for 5 days to meet someone there and we we're looking for cheap flights and rental cars. We are planning to go there in 1 month, probably from september 1st to the 5th. Where do you suggest we look for cheap flights ?? Most of them are 430$ from burlington. Do you think we could find them somewhere less expensive? Because with the rental car, gaz, food , it would cost probably 800$ for 5 days! What do you think we should do for an inexpensive trip? thank you!!
For your "what to do" question, you should probably post in the Los Angeles forum or, better yet, look over the travel guides people have already written about things to do in Los Angeles. Los Angeles Travel Guide First off, your dates are during the American Labor Day weekend, which is a very popular time to travel, so flights are at a premium. If you can change your dates to the next weekend, it would probably be better for you in the end. You may want to look at a Priceline package from Burlington, Albany, Syracuse, or whatever major US airport you can get to easily. You can usually save quite a bit by booking the flight and hotel together as one package, as opposed to purchasing them separately. Hope that helps.

You'll get more response by posting in the LA forum, not Montreal. Flights that week will be a premium as it is a US holiday and typically "the last fling of the summer" for many people. I haven't flown out of VT in years but I'd first look at flights from Manchester and Boston which typically have better flights to LA. Look for flights with 1-2 additional stops even if it means changing planes. It's a pain for travel but it is typically the less expensive way to go. LA in general can be expensive. I know my daughter lives there. However there are restaurants that are not very expensive even in some of the more expensive areas.

You can also try connecting flights out of Plattsburgh New York. Lately they have had more airlines flying out of there, and there are shuttles to and from Montreal.
