Hollidays in France

by jlpavic Online Now Jun 23, 2003 at 5:02 AM

Hi!, We are looking some apartment or bungalow from 26th July to 9th August in the area Nice or Montpellier for 2 adults and 2 children (1year, 5 years). Is it possible to find it on above time and where we can ask about? Thanks. Regards, Jasminka

Try Gîtes de France www.gites-de-france.com My many experiences with them (private homes, cottages and B&B) are excellent. You can also buy the GdF guides or e-mail the Office du Tourisme in Nice or Montpellier and ask if they send a free brochure with a list of GdF cottages in the area.

I suggest the Clos Domitia in Loupian, near Montpellier. It is a village of charming houses, protected by a fence, with a outdoor pool. The houses are rented with furniture, kitchen, TV, parking place. They can shelter a family of 4 persons. The sea is nearby. The local specialities are the wine and hoysters. The back country is very beautiful and less touristy than the Riviera.

Hi - there's a company called At Home In France that is run out of the US and rents apartments in Paris. Their web address is: http://www.athomeinfrance.com/ (My former boss has a property listed there - that's how I heard about it.)

Hi! Thanks. Do we need reservation before we come there or we can find some apartment when we arrive? I heard that near Marseille are very good beaches. Do you know which beach is better for children near Montpellier or Marseille? Regards, Jasminka

Yes, oysters. The capital of oysters in this area is Bouzigue on the Etang de Thau.
