      cheap transpotation to london

      Paris Apr 30, 2013 at 10:17 AM

Does anyone know a cheap way to get from Paris to London? It seems that there are plenty of reasonable deals going the other way, London to Paris. I need to travel May 8th.
I do have luggage so the cheap business flights are out.
      Any help is greatly appreciated.

      Paris May 15, 2013 at 10:06 PM

Hi, I will be flying in to Paris Charles de Gaulle (Terminal 2B) and have to catch the TGV to Arras.
Is there a train station close to terminal 2?
Can I go direct to Arras from the airport or do I have to go into Parris and catch another train?
      Thank you in advance

      Jules Verne

      Paris Apr 24, 2013 at 4:41 PM

Has anyone gone to the Jules Verne restaurant in the Effiel Tower? Please share your experience's, food enjoyed....etc. I know there are probably better, and cheaper places to get food. And this is pretty much a tourist trap. But looks to me, if you can afford it. This is probably an unforgettable place to have dinner. In the Effiel Tower over looking Paris.

      Thank you

      Hi,

I intend to visit Paris in the second week of June, to my regret I understand this is too early for the summer sales ("Soldes")... however, where can I get decent quality men's clothes (casual) for reasonable prices, in paris or it's vicinity?

      Trains to Brussels

      Paris Apr 21, 2013 at 1:38 PM

My niece mentioned that she loves art nouveau and in particular Mucha and she mentioned the Musee Carnvalet which has the Mucha jewelry store. I remembered that we visited a district in Brussels with Horta's house and lots of art nouveau architecture. It looks like 1 1/2 hours each way from Paris Nord which isn't horrible, I don't really want to stay overnight and move our stuff again so it'd be a daytrip. So I found the Thalys website, is that the place to buy tickets? Or should I look at the Eurostar? And should I buy in advance for the best price? Right now it's looking to be 29-39€ each way for early June on Thlays and it appears that the price structure works kind of like the Eurostar, once that price level is gone, it's gone?

My other idea was Giverny and Rouen but she hasn't made any similar comments about impressionism plus Brussels gives her another country which I think at that age will be really cool, 3 new countries :-) Heck, even at my age I sometimes swing by a place just to add one!

Inexpensive hostels that don't charge cancellation fees

      Paris May 13, 2013 at 10:28 AM

      Hello,

Wondering if anyone can recommend inexpensive hostels/hotels in Paris that don't charge you if you cancel your reservations way in advance of your scheduled arrival (by way in advance, I mean cancelling about one month before your reserved date).

      Thank you in advance!

      accomodation near Train station

      Paris Apr 25, 2013 at 10:17 PM

      Hi all,
We would be arriving at 9.30 am at Paris Est station from Berlin by CNL night train. After spending 3 Days in Paris, we proceed to Switzerland ,(Basel) we have have found

TGV Lyria leaving at 8.32 am from Paris Lyon. Train suitable.

can any one suggest suitable safe locality where to book Hotel /B&B/ apartment ?? so
      1) It is easier for travelling to major sight seeing attractions in Paris
      2) Easier to catch this 8.32 am train from Paris Lyon Station to basel

As we are visiting Paris for the first time, I presume lots of time would be wasted in getting to the right platform, and right train, asking for directions so suggest considering these.

      Thank you all
      Meena
