In Arenal and Monteverde it can be cloudy most days that time of year, especially at Arenal and La Fortuna. At the coast, the weather is very good. It is considered the dry season (as well as the high season) but that is mostly at the coast. The later you go in March the better chance you will have in seeing Arenal Volcano. I have been there 6 different years in January and once in March and never saw the top of Arenal. Went once in July, picture perfect view of Arenal errupting. Still, it should be a great trip!
