Cabanas La Pradera

by lmangano Online Now Apr 17, 2007 at 9:29 AM

I'm planning on booking our last three nights at Cabanas La Pradera in Monteverde in mid-May. Has anyone stayed here before? They offer fully equipped rustic cabins that look super cute online. The price is a steal too!

Our only concern is getting to San Jose on our last day around 12pm. Our flight departs at 3pm. Does anyone see any big problems getting to San Jose in time to catch our flight?

I took the public bus from Monteverde at around 7am. I just asked the bus driver to drop me off at the airport. I was at the airport by 11 am. There will be a quick stop when you get down to the bottom of the mountain for coffee, bano etc. Do not leave anything on the bus if you get off except what is in the underbelly.

Another option would be to check with They have a shuttle that goes to San Jose and you might be able to get dropped off by the airport. It will be more expensive than the public bus but less than a private driver.
