I'm a 30-year-old woman who is travelling alone and am looking for a place to stay in Cinque Terre. I'm looking for something more along the lines of a hostel or B&B (ideally - a friendly place where I can meet interesting people). Any suggestion would be most appreciated.
Have just been there a couple of months ago during peak season and there is no need to book ahead. Lots of places with rooms vacant,both hostels and just rooms in peoples houses. The towns are fairly compact and you could spend an hour looking at different places and choose what suits. Its a beautiful part of the world.

http://www.cinqueterre.com/eng/ have you checked this website ? No need to stay in Monterosso, a very short train ride between the 5 townships. We stayed at camere guiliano in Vernazza last october and liked it there (no brekafast). see my report on Tripadvisor
