Summer Accommodation

by goldengirl58 Online Now Aug 30, 2007 at 7:28 PM

Hi, I'm heading back to Itly next year with my children and a dozen or so friends to celebrate my 50th birthday. I've booked villas at Castello Montelgufoni for 1 week and thought it would be nice to spend another week on the coast.
I had a 2 night stay at Monterosso last year and it rained for 2 days:-(
Thought it would be nice to go back in the summer this time. We would be looking for cheaper budget options.
Has anyone got any recommendations?
Another question,
How many of the towns have a beach? Is it only Monterosso?
Thanks for your help.
Ciao

From memory, Rio Maggiore doenst have a beach as such, but an area where you can paddle, but Monterosso is the only one with a big swimming beach. I found Rio Maggiore quite pleasant to stay in. I cant remember where I actually stayed, think its on my Cinque Terre page, will have a look and get back to you.
