What are the options for transportation from Monte Carlo Cruise Ship to the Airport in Nice?
3 Adults with an estimated 5 bags.
The Cruise line "Motor Coach" is $300+ and that seems excessive for a 30 min ride to the airport.
Where can I find reasonable transportation from the port where my ship docks in Monte carlo to a hotel in Nice France??
My 16 year old American daughter will be in Monte Carlo with an Italian exchange family. She is already tired of the discos and bars that they enjoy. Is there anything else she can do in the evenings?

I am coming to Monte Carlo for the first time, with a friend,in July - to see the Summer Sporting Club Festival. Can anyone please advise me of the most economical way to get to our aparthotel in Beausoleil from Nice airport, and also the best way to travel around Monte Carlo (including to the festival venue) once we are there?

I am going to Monte Carlo on business in a couple weeks. I have previously visited Paris and the north of France, but I was visiting people at that time, so they helped me out with customs, currency, etc. This time I am on my own, so I am doing my best to be prepared. I have been doing extensive reading, but have not been able to answer a couple practical questions; so I am hoping someone here can give me a couple tips.
1. I understand Monaco is expensive. So, I am trying to determine just how much Euro I will need to have on hand. I guess my first question is, do most of the shops and cafe's accept a Visa card? If so, that will alleviate my concerns significantly.
2. Are there ATM machines that will dispense Euro's from my Visa? I remember in Paris many years ago using ATMs with my Visa to get francs. If such ATMs exist, do they have an English option?
3. Finally, in the absence of an ATM, are there local banks that will give me Euro against my Visa card?
Thank you so much in advance.
Since this tip was posted in 2008, we wondered if it is still operating? Also, is it hop-on/hop-off? Are tickets bought on the train or elsewhere? How much are the tickets? Are they good all day? What are the operating hours? Is there a website for this attraction? Thanks.
My husband and I will be arriving via Regents Seven Seas at the port in Monte Carlo after a 10 days cruise starting in Venice. We plan to stay 2 nights in the area and are unsure whether to get a hotel in Monte Carlo or Nice. Looking at the Metrople in Monte Carlo --- any suggestions?
My husband and I will be in Monte Carlo over Christmas. We will arrive on the 23rd Dec, staying 3 nights. This is our first trip to Monte Carlo, and our second honeymoon! We are staying at the Fairmont Hotel. Would really appreciate some suggestions on must see places, good food restaurants and bars/lounges where we can people watch..also concerned that its Christmas and some places may be closed?
I have booked to go back to the Monte Carlo Masters Tennis tournament next April. Unlike the last time i visited back in 2009 i am leaving myself with some time to actually see Monte Carlo.
I am staying in Nice to cut costs and will get the train to Monte Carlo the day i arrive. Due to flight times i will only arrive in Monte Carlo around 5pm and leave at 10pm on the last train back to Nice.
I want to wander down to the harbour. Now i understand that Monte Carlo is hilly, is the walk to harbour downhill from the train station? What is the best/easiest way to get there?
From here i plan to walk to the Casino/Hotel de Paris then onto the Mirabeau/Loews hairpin corners (F1 fan too).
This may sound a silly question but what time will the sun set in mid April, just so i know what kind of photos i can take. I would love to catch the sun setting across the harbour.
Are there any places for a cheap drink that is not too far out of the way from the casino?
Many thanks for any advice you can give me.
Are there any traditional bars or pubs in Monaco?
I see in all the travel guides mention of restaurants and casino's, but I have never seen anything about places to go out drinking and enjoying nightlife. I am not interested in a casino or anything too formal.
Any help greatly appreciated - particularly names of places to go out
Hi, we are heading to Monte Carlo in July and I want the full experience including nights in Black Tie. I don't want to hire a suit in Australia and carry it all the way over there. Does anyone know where I can hire a dinner suit for a couple of nights in Monte Carlo? Thanks Paul

What is the best way to travel from Nice to Monte Carlo to watch the Grand prix
I'm trying to locate a place I've seen in a guidebook. There is a statue of four red letters that spell out the word "Love". There's nothing written to identify the place except that there is a Credit Lyonnaise bank next to it which is also shown in the picture.
The book is from 2006 so I'm trying to figure out whether the sign is still standing and if so what street it is on.
If there is a resident or recent visitor who knows what i'm talking about, I'd really appreciate your response.
Best wishes Chloe
Hello, wanted to know how much these cost and where to catch them from. Taking an elderly relative to south of France and this seams the easiest way to have a quick look at the towns. Also, can you 'hop on and off'? Thanks.
My boyfriend and I would like to take a one way helicopter transfer from Monte Carlo to Nice Airport in August. The cost per person on the Heli Air Monaco website is €99.00 per person. However, some other websites quote €69.00 as a guide.
Any suggestions on how to book the cheapest option? I don't want to leave it until I'm in Monte Carlo as last time I was there it was fully booked.
Thanks in advance!
We are staying in Nice, by coincidence at same time as Monaco Grand Prix.
We want to spend a day in Monte Carlo,by public transport, visiting Oceanarium etc, and thought it would be fun, never having seen a Grand Prix before to visit on the Thursday, the practice day, just to get a flavour of it, before all the crowds arrive.
Is this a good idea, if so, how best to see what's going on at minimal expense, eg which hotel to lunch at, and should we book? Or should we make sure to visit Monte Carlo earlier in the week, and skip any idea of the Grand Prix?
I am backpacking around Europe and will be in Monte Carlo for a couple of nights and want to visit the famous Casino.
I have been doing some research and most people say to enter the "main" casino, you need to be wearing formal clothing.
I don't want to have to lug a paid of dress shoes around for 6 weeks when I am only going to wear them once...
So my question is:
Will I get into the main part of the Casino wearing:
Semi casual shoes
how easy is it to take public transportation from
Nice cruise terminal for celebrity cruises to monte carlo and monaco?
How much does it cost and what is the timing?
My husband and I are staying in Monte Carlo for 3 nights and 2 full days. We want to explore the coast (Cannes, Nice, Eze, Menton) and have been told by friends to rent a car vs taking trains, etc. We are flying in to Nice airport around 9pm and were going to rent a car at the airport and drive to Monte Carlo so that we have the car for the next 2 days of our trip. Is it safe to drive from the airport to Monte Carlo at night? Also, our flight out is at 7:45am and we were debating whether or not to return the car to the airport that morning or drop it in Monte Carlo the day before? Is the Nice airport really busy where it would take alot of time to drop the car off----woud it be better to take a taxi back? Thanks!
I'll be taking a train to Monte Carlo and I would like to know how to get from the train station to "touristy" sites. Thanks for your help!
