Travel to and around Monte Carlo

by SarahJB Online Now Jun 3, 2012 at 12:08 PM

Hi,
I am coming to Monte Carlo for the first time, with a friend,in July - to see the Summer Sporting Club Festival. Can anyone please advise me of the most economical way to get to our aparthotel in Beausoleil from Nice airport, and also the best way to travel around Monte Carlo (including to the festival venue) once we are there?
Maany thanks, Sarah

Train, bus or taxi in that order if memory serves me (takes 30-60 minutes). Bus may be less than the train as it's been a couple years. Traveling around I found the bus quite easy to use. If they still have the "tourist cards" you pay one price for the entire day's riding (hop on/off).

I'm not familiar with this festival, but during the May Gran Prix, many of the streets are blocked off or have limited access.

I would say that the best way to get around Monte Carlo would be on foot. The place is tiny, and there are plenty of public lifts to help you with elevation changes.
