a few hours in Monte Carlo

Are cruise ship docks in Cannes and we're planning to take the train to Monte Carlo. Can anyone suggest a few hours' (that's all we have!) looking around town,train station onwards. I'd love to go down the Grand Prix track. Do we need a certain bus for that? Thanks
