Do you know tour companies that offer day trips into the wine region, especially Montalcino and Montepulciano from Florence? Is departing from SIena a better idea? I know we can use the SITA bus network and do it on our own, but just wondering?? Thanks for any help you can offer.
We drove to both from Siena, whch is much closer than Florence. If you drive I highly recommend the lunch and tour at Castello Banfi. If you like Tuscan cusine and Brunello you will be very happy there. It is a 15-20 minute drive from Montalcino.

Hi: I am afraid I didn't make myself clear. We will be touring Italy by train and I was looking for a way to check out some of the wine towns without having to rent a car. I do appreciate your response regardless. Thanks.
