Does anyone know how to get from London to Mont Saint Michel. I will not have a car and plan on spending the night before going on to Paris. I will be traveling June 14.
There are probably dozens of ways to do this? I have only done it by car ferry to Cherbourg then drive to Mont St Michel. here are a few 'ood for thoughts'. The nearest railway station to Mont St Michel is Pontorson-Mont-St-Michel This is connected to the Mont by regular tourist bus. The station at Pontorson is not on the main line. The nearest mainline for getting to Paris is at Rennes and getting to Rennes from Mont St Michel is using the services of: keolis-emeraude.com/en/mont-... So its a question of either getting a train to Pontorson-Mont-St-Michel or Rennes I feel. Rennes is on the fast TGV line to Paris. Will you take a ferry over to France? Perhaps if you go the long way to St Malo then you can take a bus to Mont St Michel? But its a long journey. See Condor Ferries or Brittany Ferries? or you could perhaps get to Caen (Ouistreham) on ferry then from Caen get a train (2 hours) to Pontorson. brittany-ferries.co.uk/guide... voyages-sncf.com/billet-trai...
