From Cherbourg to Mont Saint Michel...how?

I'm coming in to Cherbourg April 11 on an overnight ferry, arrive around noon. The information I've found on trains and buses from Cherbourg to Pontorson seems a little sketchy. Is there a convenient way to travel from Cherbourg to Pontorson/Mont St. Michel that is under 3 hours? I have a eurail pass but don't mind taking a bus if it works better. Ideas?

14.04 from Cherbourg, change at Lison (dep 15.01) arrives Pontorson/MSM at 16.28. For the full timetable go to www.sncf.fr and keep with the French language version: TER (Bouger en region), select Basse Normandie on the map, then 'Carte & Horaires'. From the dropdown list select route 10.
