by baconb Online Now Jan 10, 2014 at 6:17 PM

      Hi all,
My partner and I will be staying in Nice and hiring a car. I love casinos so some of my time will def be spent looking around.
      Here are my questions
      - Can you drive into Nice from Monaco? Is there parking etc or too hard?
      - Easier to catch a train in?

What to do in a day? Is that enough time or do you need more time?

      Thanks in advance!

Up to the palace from Place des Armes

by Ekaterinburg Online Now Oct 14, 2013 at 6:24 AM

The public buses 1 and 2 go to Monaco Ville from Place Des Armes. The bus stop is several streets away from the palace but I'm wondering if it's on the same level ? In other words is there a climb involved or is all of Monaco Ville more or less on the same gradient ? Failing that would it be possible to get a taxi from Place Des Armes ? Unfortunately, due to defective lungs, the steep climb is not an option.

Milan to Monaco and back by car

by Tamer75 Online Now Sep 23, 2013 at 5:43 AM

We are planning a road trip from Milan to Monaco then Nice and back. I know it is only a 340 KM drive as we want to enjoy the scenery. We are not planning to stay the night in Monaco, but rather spend the day there and head to Nice for 2 nights and back to Milan.
My main question, is 4 days enough for such trip? We do not want to rush things as the main purpose if to enjoy and see new cities. Also, what are the roads speed limit there?
      Thanks

Hi, I will be going to Monaco for the F1 weekend but want to take my partner up into the hills at dusk and ask her to marry me. My question is where can I get a good view to overlook Monaco at night, Ideally I would like it to be romantic and somewhere we could get to sit and admire the views and not through bushes or a fence. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    • Avoiding Monaco during Grand Prix?

by AttilatheFun Online Now Oct 31, 2011 at 8:18 AM

We will be docking in Villefranche for a cruise on May 11. I asked a tour company about visiting Monaco/Monte Carlo on this day and they have refused as the Grand Prix starts that day. Is it so crowded/crazy that we should avoid the area or would it be possible to take the train on our own? We dock at 8am and should be back onboard by 7pm.

      Hello,

My cousin and I are planning our yearly trip and this year we have decided Monaco and surrounding cities.

      A few questions

      1. Would it be more beneficial to rent an apt in Nice or Monaco? (or just bounch around every day to different cities)?

      2. Would it be better to rent a scooter or car?

      3. Were both 28 years old, so we still like to check out some clubs or popular bars in the evening (not just Friday or Saturday)

      4. What cities would you suggest we visit in one week?

Thank you, any information would be very helpful.

      Hi there,

I've been asked to book a hotel near the Garibaldi Forum. Does anyone know if such a place exists, and if yes, where? I've been to Monaco twice and don't recall this name. I can't find any reference to it in Google.

      Many thanks in advance!

URGENT!! English to French power point adaptor?

by JulesH Online Now Aug 24, 2009 at 11:34 AM

A real long shot I know, but does anyone have any idea where my other half can get hold of an English to French power point adaptor in Monaco? He left all his adaptors in my case when I flew back to the UK from Geneva and he flew straight to Monaco. He's now got no way of charging his phone or laptop and is supposed to be working in Monaco all week! EEK!! He really needs to get one for tomorrow if possible. If anyone can point us in the direction of somewhere that sells them, excellent! If anyone in the Monaco area is feeling generous enough to lend him one, he will promise to return it on Friday! He's staying at the Hotel Forum if that helps. We'd really appreciate any help anyone can give us. Thanks in anticipation!

    • handicap access to Monte Carlo Casino

by kennethgerard Online Now Jul 17, 2009 at 7:53 PM

I am 78 years old and use a cane for assistance. My cruise ship is docking in Ville Franche and I would like to gamble at the Place du Grand, the Monte Carlo Casino. I can not walk a mile up the hill. How can I get access to the Casino? The shore excursions offered will only get visitors as far as the Rock of Monaco, but not to the door of the casino. What do you recommend?

      camping near Monaco

by Fiepke Online Now Mar 14, 2009 at 8:48 AM

      Hi,

In April and May, three friends and I will visit the seven smallest states of Europe. Does anyone has any tips on camping near Monaco? I found the website of a nice campsite in Eze, France (7 kms from Monaco), but it isn't open yet in April. I heard Menton has some places as well - anything even closer? Other budget ideas are welcome too!

      Thanks,

      NCE to Monte-Carlo

by ATXtraveler Online Now Jan 23, 2009 at 8:15 PM

Could someone please inform me of whether the following statements are correct:

      1. A cab ride from NCE to Monte-Carlo is about a 50 minute ride.
      2. There is no train station in NCE airport, but there is one that is a 15 minute walk from Terminal 1.
      3. The train takes about 20-29 minutes between the two.

Could someone let me know how expensive a cab ride would be from NCE to Monte-Carlo?

      Thanks!

    • Dress Code at Monte Carlo Casino

by K-Flex Online Now Apr 18, 2008 at 1:47 AM

I am backpacking around Europe and will be in Monte Carlo for a couple of nights and want to visit the famous Casino.

I have been doing some research and most people say to enter the "main" casino, you need to be wearing formal clothing.

I don't want to have to lug a paid of dress shoes around for 6 weeks when I am only going to wear them once...

      So my question is:

Will I get into the main part of the Casino wearing:

      Suit Jacket
      Shirt
      Tie
      Jeans
      Semi casual shoes
