I am 78 years old and use a cane for assistance. My cruise ship is docking in Ville Franche and I would like to gamble at the Place du Grand, the Monte Carlo Casino. I can not walk a mile up the hill. How can I get access to the Casino? The shore excursions offered will only get visitors as far as the Rock of Monaco, but not to the door of the casino. What do you recommend?
Last time I was there you could literally get with in 20 meters of the front door by car, but it has been awhile. The rode is just to the right and there is a parking area in front of the front door so I am sure you can get a car to drop you off with in your comfort zone. I have never looked or noticed taxi cabs in the Principate of Monico but I am sure one can be arranged. http://www.yourmonaco.com/casino

Wow, you offer a challenge. Depending on the cruise shuttle docking you may have some challenges. I'm not familiar with Ville Franche as a docking site, rather the dock below the castle. Even so, I would suspect there will be cabs available to take you to / from the casino. A word of warning, no cameras...

continuing on with the alert/warning. No overcoats, purses, bags etc, they all get check in at the coat clerk. If you carry any medical devices, I would bring your prescription along with you.

On the last day of our Mediterranean cruise, we had a perfectly wonderful private tour with Catherine Coppex of www.traveltourprestige.com. First we went to Eze, then to Monaco for the Aquarium, then 2 of us went to the Casino while the others had lunch. Our family of five felt Catherine was very interesting, personable, accomodating and the price for the four hour tour was reasonable. She picked us up right at the dock in Ville Franche after we tendered over from the cruise ship. I would highly recommend her services!
