From Mombasa to Dar IN one day, yes, it takes 10 hours (scandinaviagroup.com/Scandin.... FOR a day, no. I would suggest you put questions about Dar es Salaam in the forum for Dar, not Mombasa, and/or read general guide like wikitravel.org/en/Dar_es_Sal... (for an idea of what the city tour includes, see tanzania-tours.com/Dar_es_Sa.... For Bongoyo island, boats leave from Msasani Slipway (there's a nice shopping centre there) and take about 30 mins, ferry timetable is on here: http://www.slipway.net/island_trips.php.

As far as I know Scandinavia went bust a few years ago but other companies do the trip from near the roundabout on Jomo Kenyatta Rd / Mwembe Tayari Rd. Last time I was in Mombasa in Feb I walked from the airport (on the mainland)to the centre of town (on the island). A nice 2 hour stroll not including the time I spent drinking two bottles of beer in the Millenium bar on the way.
