Fishing on Molokai

by Peweli Online Now Mar 10, 2008 at 10:56 AM

Thanks for the responses to my other post regarding accommodations. We've narrowed down the area we'll be staying at!!

Next question....Can anyone recommend areas for fishing? I know Molokai has some of the better fishing in Hawaii but are there certain areas/beaches that are better for shore fishing? Also, is there a guide or boat you'd recommend for reef trolling or shoreline casting?

Mahalo.

Check in town at the Molokai Fish and Dive shop for locations. Not many areas for surf fishing and make sure the natives are happy to have you around. They fish for living, not fun. They do have a charter boat. See website:www.molokaifishanddive.com

Thanks for the info! I appreciate it. Yeah, we always ask the locals on the other islands before we fish. They are always gracious and have always steered us towards great spots. We give them any fish we catch if they want it; if not, catch and release!
