If you can get to Arches National Park early enough in the morning to snag a spot, their campground is beautiful. Most sites have a tree or two for shade (plus the giant rock formations surrounding the campground give you lots of places to find cover), and the sites are nicely separated and private.

The biggest issue with the Arches campground is that it's all the way at the far end of the park, so if you're looking to do a lot of traveling outside Arches, it's a long drive in and out each time.

We camped in Moab a number of years ago. We stayed at a campgroung called Spanish Trails. It had grassy sites where you actually set up your tents. Everywhere else had gravel tent sites. Check them out online. It looks like they have gone more towards the RV market, but see if they have any designated tent sites.
