WE will be in or near Indianola MS & are looking for a night's lodging at a well reviewed establishment along the Delta,mid point between Vicksburg & Clarksdale.

will be bringing a motor coach tour of senior citizens through Vicksburg in early June 2013. Are there any hotels/motels close to ( like next door0 to one of the casinos that would be more reasonably priced than the casinos? thanks for any info.

Hi, I've started my preparations for trip to the southern part of the USA (visit summer 2012). I want to visit the music cities in the South (Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans. I have a question concerning driving from Memphis towards Nachez (via Tupelo ?) which is the most beautiful scenic route ; down along the Mississipi river, or via the Nachez Trace Parkway ? or maybe a combination of the both ? all tips are welcome Kind regards - Filip

Planning a 50th anniversary vacation for entire family (3 families)(11 people) for a full week in 2014. What is the #1 favorite vacation spot in Biloxi? That is where we spend our honeymoon in l964.

We are going to be in the Louisianna/Mississippi area the second week of Oct. I was wondering if there are any nice beaches we could go to. I am not sure the status of the beaches due to the oil leak. Thanks Any other tips (where to stay, eat, what to do would be great). Hi, my wife and I are passing through Vicksburg (21st - 24th August 2011), we are travelling by Greyhound Bus. We are staying at the Best Western, North frontage Road, unfortunately we will have no car. How easy is it to get around Vicksburg by foot? Are there any tips (other than hire one!) We are joining some friends from Texas the second weekend of July. They are renting a beach house for themselves and their son and his girlfriend. Unfortunately, no room for us, as this is a last-minute trip. So, we are looking for a decent motel (would like a pool but not totally necessary since we'll be at the beach most of the time). And would love to know where the locals go for eating - seafood naturally but any local flavor would be great. We understand that there is a Farmers Market the 2nd weekend of each month so we are excited about that. Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciate. Can't wait to get there! Thanks!

Me and my girlfriend (mid 20's) we are planning to travel from New Orleans To Memphis in early june! We are just after some tips and advice! We are in no rush and want to stop of in some small towns and visit small town America. We want to stay in a cuople of b&b/guest house type of accomadation and not a motel6! My husband & I ate at The Wharf, in 1992, during a return home mission trip to hurricane Andrew. We have often talk about this night and how much we enjoyed the atmosphere there. We were wondering if The Wharf was still opened, since we heard casinos were down Under The Hill now. So I guess my question is this, Are you opened. Hello, We are trying to match a midpoint trip between Houston-Atlanta (closer to Atlanta though), and since only MS and AL are teh two states, we are looking for destinations to go to. The month is February hence we do not want to be really cold, but Casino's and Museums are not our interest. I came across some interesting activities for camping in a cabin in Mississippi, but the ideal time is not February. Just hoping to get some suggestions on possible activities around the area. I'm traveling to Gulfport, but my flight arrives in New Orleans, then I have to take a transportation to Gulfport from New Orleans. By taxi it cost almost100, but it is kind of expensive. Which other option is available? Which is easier and cheaper?

I saw a documentary about Margaret's Grocery the other day and we are interested in visiting, since we may be doing a road trip of the Southern US next year. I was wondering if anyone has seen it recently and whether Margaret and her husband Rev. Dennis are still alive. Hi Does anyone know if there is an indoor pool at the Heartbreak Hotel, or is it outside? We are only spending two nights there - we will be arriving late on Christmas Eve and will probably just crash out that night after a long flight, then we will be there for Christmas Day and night, before moving off. Is it really very bad in this area, and what, apart from the normal things, should we do to keep safe?

We are considering moving to Ocean Springs. We are concerned about the amount of rainfall. We have lived in Florida where the amount of rain is comparable but there it rains in tremendous storms then clears off for the day. We live in Kentucky now where there is less rain but it is slow dreary drizzly rain that goes on for days without alot of accumulation. How would you describe it in Ocean Springs. So basicallly we would like to know if it sunny or dreary. How are the winters?

Having never been to Mississippi can anyone recommend any scenic drives in the northern part of the state? We'll be in Memphis for a couple days the last week of April so it's fairly close. Any drives or gardens with spring flowers blooming would be great! Thanks
