One of our fellow VT-ers, Najatnaser, is going to be staying, with her family, at the Ports Hotel on Port St., in Mississauga. According to the website the nearest intersection is Lakeshore & Hurontario. Are any of the Mississauga folks familiar with this area? I'm not finding much help on what I see on Mapquest. Is this a safe area? Is there shopping - particularly grocery stores - nearby? How long a walk would it be to the Port Credit GO station? I'm sure she'd appreciate any help anyone can give her. From the above intersection, you would walk one block west to Ann Street and then 3 blocks up to the Go Station. I visited the area recently and it appears to be safe. The Lakeshore Road area around Port Credit is commercial with restaurants/shops etc. I believe that there is a medium sized grocery store within walking distance if you head east on Lakeshore Road.
