Coming to Milwaukee for July 3rd Fireworks

by wpyrock Online Now Jun 25, 2007 at 10:31 PM

I will be driving from Minneapolis down to Racine for the July 4th parade and hope to make it to Milwaukee in time for the fireworks.

I hear that parking is a nightmare and coming from out of town, I would like some help.

Can you see the fireworks from the Summerfest grounds?

Can you take the Summerfest shuttles and go to Veterans Park?

Just trying to see what I am getting myself into.

Thanks!

Yes, you can see fireworks from Summerfest grounds. Parking is bad down there that day. If you park 6 or more blocks away, it won't be too bad, or find a ramp and park there. Best to get there early, if you get there late afternoon, it might be tough.

I don't know about the shuttles going to Vets park, but they do have them from the State Fair park(about 84th St), and you can park out there and take a bus in if you want to avoid parking downtown.

Thanks. Last year we went to Summerfest on the 4th and parked at a shuttle lot. Will probably do the same and watch the fireworks from the Summerfest grounds.
