Travel from Milan to Como

by whsin Online Now Apr 29, 2012 at 3:10 AM

Hi, I'm going to Milan in June and I need to attend a dinner appointment in Como which i know is about 1.5 hr train ride away. When is the last train coming back from Como to Milan? Do I need to stay the night in a hotel in Como? SS

You can find all train times, details and fares in English on the official Italian railway website: trenitalia.com/homepage_en.h... Como has four stations. Como Bord Lago is nearest to the lake, San Giovanni is about 10 minutes' walk from the lake, Camerlata and Borgo are further out in the town. Look on googlemaps to see where each station is. The last train from San Giovanni (to Milan Centrale station) is at 2322, from Como Nord Lago (to Milan Nord Cadorna station, as are trains from the Como stations) at 2236. Whether you will need to stay the night really depends on how long you expect your dinner appointment to last and on how far the venue is from each station.

Don't look for your June date..info on railway websites is not held months in advance. Just look for the same day of the week next week. Train times and fares are highly unlikely to change before you visit.
