Bernardino Luini, Noah's Ark

by jillcmerrill Online Now Sep 25, 2011 at 6:58 AM

I have seen pictures of a fresco of Noah's Ark by Bernardino Luini.

It is said to be located in Milan .

Does anyone know where it is in Milan?

Is it open for viewing?

Many thanks!

jill

Yes, I saw it on my February visit.

You'll find it (and others) in the jewel-like interior of San Maurizio al Monastero, part of Milan's Museum of Archaeology and not too far from Santa Maria della Grazie (where Da Vinci's Last Supper is).

The Luini's fresco is located in the church of S. Maurizio al MOnastero maggiore. Exactly the fresco is located in the area of the church that in the past was reserved to the nuns; in fact the church constists of two areas divided by a partition wall.
It's one of the most beautiful church of the city.
